This was our 2022 entry for Straight 8 which picked up Silver at the Cannes 2022 Shootout.
Straight 8 is a challenge for ad agencies and production companies around the world competing to create the best short film on super 8. No editing. No post-production. 100% nerve-wracking, with everyone seeing their films for the first time in the screening at Cannes during the Lions festival.
Our idea was to make fun of the ad industry's usual tropes and how it attempts to save the world and put up a mirror to ourselves during the Cannes Lions festival.
It took 8kg of sand and 2 strong men to fill up the Faff Filter 5000
and an awesome team to make it possible <333
The work was picked up by the advertising press and chosen by arts TV channel 'Canal 180' for a special programme on 10 Straight 8 films to air in Portugal.
It was also showcased at Prince Charles Cinema in London and at Les Arcades Cinema in Cannes.
